# Introducing Pewter Data: BuzzLead's New Venture in AI Data Licensing

*Published: November 4, 2026*

BuzzLead's founders launched Pewter Data with Chelunor (Lawrence) Nwajei to help established US businesses license their company records to AI labs.

In October 2026, Nick Konstantinidis and I started a new company with Chelunor (Lawrence) Nwajei, a friend I have been selling alongside since 2017. It is called [Pewter Data](https://pewterdata.com), and it helps owners of established US businesses license de-identified copies of their company records to AI labs.

This post covers what Pewter does, who runs it, and why a cold email agency turned out to be the right place for it to start.

## What Pewter Data does
AI labs are looking for something the open web can't give them: how real businesses actually work. The email thread where a dispatcher reroutes a late load. The workpapers behind a reconciliation. The revisions on an engineering drawing. That knowledge sits inside private companies, and labs now license it.

Pewter works on the owner's side of that transaction. We help a business work out what its records could be worth, bring a written offer from our licensing partner, and coordinate the deal through payment, so the owner's legal, privacy and security people can review every step. Identifying details about clients and staff are removed or replaced before anything is delivered, and nothing is licensed until the owner signs.

There is nothing to pay upfront. If a deal closes, Pewter's fee is 10% of the license price, shown on the paperwork before anyone signs.

The firms that fit best usually have 20 or more people, now or at peak, and at least three years of records. They can be operating, winding down or already closed. Logistics, accounting, engineering, construction, distribution and manufacturing records are in particular demand because they show skilled work step by step. You can see deals other licensing firms have published this year on Pewter's [market deals page](https://pewterdata.com/deals).

## Who runs Pewter

### Chelunor (Lawrence) Nwajei, Managing Partner, New York
Lawrence has spent a decade in enterprise technology sales at Dell, Adobe and Salesforce, and led sales at a startup through its acquisition. At Salesforce, Lawrence was a senior enterprise account executive for its data and AI products, working with CIOs, security leaders, legal and procurement teams as they decided how customer records could be unified, governed and put to work. At Pewter, Lawrence leads seller relationships and deal structure, and wrote [Before You Sell Your Data](https://pewterdata.com/before-you-sell), the guide we give owners and their counsel.

Lawrence and I met in the summer of 2017 as roommates during a Gartner sales internship in Fort Myers, Florida.

### Nick Konstantinidis, Managing Partner, St. Pete Beach
Nick co-founded BuzzLead and runs the research, targeting and list building behind our client campaigns. Before BuzzLead, Nick sold software at OpenWater and stayed through the company's acquisition, after starting at Paychex, where Nick was named Rookie of the Year in 2019. At Pewter, Nick leads market research and seller sourcing: which industries hold the records labs ask for, and who at each company can make the decision.

### Troy Aitken, Managing Partner, St. Pete Beach
I co-founded BuzzLead and run its sales, marketing and outreach infrastructure. I started at Gartner advising CIOs of healthcare organizations, then sold at OpenWater and at Flock Safety, whose customers look closely at how data is collected and used. At Pewter I run outreach and the commercial process that takes an owner from a first conversation to agreed terms.

Nick and I go back to high school in Richmond, Virginia. We sold custom T-shirts across the Christopher Newport University campus, competed for the top of the board at OpenWater, and started BuzzLead in 2022. Between the three of us there is more than 25 years of enterprise sales experience. The [Pewter about page](https://pewterdata.com/about) has the full story.

## Why this fits with BuzzLead
Pewter's hardest problem is supply. The businesses whose records labs want are private, established and mostly not thinking about AI at all. Nobody searches for "license my dispatch logs." Someone has to find the right firms, reach the person who can decide, and explain an unfamiliar opportunity clearly enough that they take the call.

That is the work BuzzLead has done for clients since 2022, and every part of it carries over:

- **Targeting.** Mapping which industries and company sizes match a buyer's brief before a single email goes out.

- **List building.** Finding the owner or executive who can say yes at each firm, instead of a general inbox.

- **Infrastructure.** Running outbound at volume on [cold email infrastructure](/infrastructure) that stays out of spam.

- **Copy.** Writing a first email that a busy owner reads as a real opportunity.

BuzzLead runs demand generation for Pewter, which also makes Pewter our own live case study: a brand-new company, a market most owners have never heard of, and outbound as the main way in.

The other half is enterprise selling. A data license gets read by lawyers, security teams and procurement on both sides. All three of us have spent our careers selling into organizations where a deal is won or lost in that review, and Lawrence spent years in exactly those conversations about customer data at Salesforce.

## What this means for BuzzLead clients
Nothing changes for current clients. BuzzLead keeps running your campaigns, and Pewter is a separate brand with its own site and inbox, operated by Buzzlead.io LLC.

## If you own an established business
If you have run a firm for years, the records it produced may be worth something to an AI lab. The [Pewter estimate calculator](https://pewterdata.com/?utm_source=buzzlead&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=pewter_launch#estimate) asks only for your headcount and years in business and takes about two minutes. It gives a scenario, not a valuation, and there is no obligation.

If you know an owner it might suit, Pewter's [referral program](https://pewterdata.com/partners) pays 10% of what the business is paid, up to $100,000.
